Dale of Norway in collaboration with the Norwegian Red Cross
Our designer has found the inspiration for the design in the values and work of the Red Cross, both internationally and in local communities, and the pattern includes several symbolic features. Hope is one of the most important elements in the Red Cross s work among people in grief and hunger in extreme areas and situations around the world. The big star in the centre of the main pattern symbolises rays of light, hope and joy for all the people in the world who are struggling through misery and hardship. The globe conveys the global reach of the Red Cross. Contributions of time and money in local departments contribute to helping and supporting people in need all over the world. The palm of a hand is a symbol of the Norwegian Red Crosss campaign against violence in our society. The jar represents the extensive work to bring clean and healthy water to the millions of people living in areas with severe draught or polluted drinking water. The cross symbolises the Red Cross, and a representation of this symbol can also be seen integrated in the pattern. The two hands protecting a white dove is the international symbol of peace and is therefore a natural element to bring into a design representing the work of the Red Cross. It can also be seen as a symbol of the Red Cross's protection and care for the individual. It is an honour for Dale of Norway to contribute to the valuable humanitarian work of the Norwegian Red Cross.
