Nisse and Jul Neg - A long time ago in Norway, bundles of grain were gathered and put outdoors at Christmas time. In the old times it was a symbol of fertility hoped for in the new year. In later times, it became a beautiful tradition as a special Christmas gift to the winter birds. The Jul Neg continues to be an annual custom in Norway today.
